Cotton or bamboo jerseys are knitted instead of woven, making them therefore naturally extensible. They also contain often elastic fibers such as spandex, which makes them even more stretchy . No surprise that it is a very popular fabric for making clothes!
However, you should know that bamboo jersey (bamboo viscose) is thinner, but still heavier and more fluid than cotton jersey. That being said, it is very popular for its softness and provides great drape for dresses.
